Flightless Angel

This angel cast was separated from its detachable wings during transportation, so I included an archway with details showing angel wings being severed by a blade (perhaps in punishment). Despite the fall from grace, the angel continues to pray.

The structure of the arch is based on the exterior panels of the Ghent Altarpiece, by Jan van Eyck and Hubert van Eyck.

The second image shows the cast and drawing side-by-side, and the third shows the accuracy of the drawing via an overlay. The photo of the real cast is tinted red and overlayed with the drawing, which is tinted green.
